Blake Lewis, the beat-boxer from Bothell, WA is returning to radio this summer with his first single, "Sad Song" off his upcoming sophomore album, "Heartbreak On Vinyl".

Blake Lewis, known for his original remake of the Bon Jovi classic, You Give Love A Bad Name during season six of "American Idol", is back on the music scene with new pop/electro/dance music.

Heartbreak On Vinyl

It has been nearly two years since Lewis put out a studio album. His first post-Idol album, Audio DayDream, was received well by fans and critics alike, but didn't have the label support to stay alive on the charts.

Now, Lewis is back with Heartbreak On Vinyl, which is being released by Tommy Boy Entertainment. The album is full of new tracks ready to make his fans dance again.

"Heartbreak On Vinyl is the culmination of over 10 years in the dance scene -- the music that gets me out onto the dance floor to lose my inhibition," Lewis said in his press release posted on USAToday.com.

Lewis said in his online press release that the title of his album, Heartbreak On Vinyl is an ode to the music stores closing down.

"These are the stores that brought inspiration to all of us music lovers and have led me to make the music I create today," Lewis stated. "Heartbreak On Vinyl is filled with electro pop goodness, with melodies I cherish and that I hope my fans will sing to. It comes from the land of the broken-hearted to help you mend lonely wounds."

Getting Support From The Label

Something Lewis struggled with when Audio DayDream was released was the lack of promotion from his label at the time. Lewis and his former label parted ways last year.

This time around, Lewis' label, Tommy Boy Entertainment is very proud to have him on their roster.

Tom Silverman, Founder and CEO of Tommy Boy Entertainment said in Lewis' online press release, "Blake Lewis has the distinction of not only one of the most amazing voices I have ever worked with, but his songwriting and general musical ability on guitar, keys and as a human beatbox combined with his love of new technology and DJ culture makes him uniquely qualified as the rebel American Idol.”

Lewis Staying Busy

While prepping Heartbreak On Vinyl, Lewis played a set during the L.A. Pride festivities and also went on tour earlier this year as part of the T-mobile GRAMMY Celebration Concert Tour with other artists like the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, N.E.R.D., Lady Gaga, Natasha Bedingfield and LLCoolJ.

Next up for the Lewis, the release of Sad Song, the first single off of Heartbreak On Vinyl will be released later this month.

Heartbreak On Vinyl is set to be released by Tommy Boy Entertainment later this year on October 6.
