American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson to perform songs from her latest album, All I Ever Wanted, in Victoria, BC.

The original American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, will continue her All I Ever Wanted Tour with a performance on November 18, 2009, at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC. She will visit cities in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand before the All I Ever Wanted tour is finished in April 2010.

Clarkson will be joined in Victoria, BC by singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson and rising rock-pop band Parachute.

Self-made musician Eric Hutchinson will be performing songs from his debut album, Sounds Like This, which he released under his own label, Let’s Break Records, in August 2007. The album peaked at #5 on the iTunes album chart that same month, becoming the highest-charting album by an unsigned act in iTunes history, according to his website.

The Virginia-based band Parachute will be performing songs from their debut Mercury/Island Def Jam Music Group album titled Losing Sleep, including the hit single “She is Love”.

Seven years after winning the American Idol title, Kelly Clarkson, is still winning big on the Billboard charts. Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted album debuted in March 2009 at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, replacing U2’s twelfth studio album, No Line on the Horizon. This was her second album to debut at #1, after Thankful in 2003.

“My Life Would Suck Without You” was the first single released from the All I Ever Wanted album and jumped from #97 to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 15 days, according to Billboard Magazine. This leap to #1 on the Billboard Charts is regarded as the biggest jump to #1 in the chart’s history.

According to Billboard Magazine, the single “My Life Would Suck Without You” is also Clarkson’s first #1 since her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, topped the charts on October 5, 2002.

Clarkson’s second album, Breakaway, won her Best Pop Vocal Album in 2005 at the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards, while the single “Since U Been Gone” from that album won her Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Banking on this popularity, RCA claims that Clarkson has sold more than16 million albums worldwide, as of January 2009.
