While the Black Eyed Peas lead all bands from year 2000 to 2007, solo artists like Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake have more most-requested singles.

Individual artists have 60% more top-requested hits than musical groups for songs released up to 2007. This conclusion arises from an analysis of Pop Culture Madness data for the 75 most requested songs from 2000 to 2007.

But while individual singers dominate bands for most-requested hits so far in the 2000s, most top solo performers regularly collaborate with other stars for many of their leading songs.

For example, Beyonce’s best-performing songs were duet efforts with other top singers like Jay-Z or Sean Paul.

The trend to team up on an individual song basis seems to be ongoing. Rihanna’s megahit Umbrella in 2007 featured Jay-Z while another popular song Break It Off features Sean Paul.
